Advisory Board


EP&T is assisted by a distinguished Advisory Board. This five member board has experience across property investment, environment, law and general business.

The primary role of the Advisory Board is to advise the Chief Executive in relation to EP&T’s business, including providing insight to industry and technological issues, and to monitor the integration of the Group’s international operations.

Sandy Hollway, Chairman

 

Sandy Hollway

Sandy was CEO of the Sydney Olympic Organising Committee for the Olympic Games and of two major Commonwealth Government Departments concerned with industry, technology, education & training. He was Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Bob Hawke and a Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s department. Sandy was an Australian diplomat for 16 years (serving in Pakistan, Germany, Canada and the USA). In his post Olympic life, he has been called on for a wide range of private and public sector projects ranging from bushfire and cyclone recovery, to the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, to the promotion of Australian business in markets such as China and India. He also retains a strong interest in the community sector and was Chair of the NSW Committee for the International Year of Volunteers in 2001.

Paul was a Partner in the Sydney office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques until 30 June 2007 having been with the firm for some 35 years. In practice, he has handled all forms of major commercial property related transactions and, more importantly, worked with clients on strategic and commercial advice. Paul was the lead Partner for major clients including Olympic Co-ordination Authority (OCA), Sydney Airport, Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA), Landcom and more recently the Northern Territory Government on redeveloping the Darwin City Waterfront, Sydney Water on the proposed Desalination Project and Sydney Water’s relocation of its headquarters to Parramatta. He was Chairman of the firm’s board from December 1991 until February 1995 and Chairman of the Firm Partnership Committee from February 2005 until February 2007.

 

Dr Ronnie Harding

Dr Ronnie Harding

 

Dr Ronnie Harding is the environmental advisor to the EP&T advisory board. Ronnie has had a long involvement with environmental management issues as an academic at UNSW between 1974 and 2004. Apart from environmental education, Ronnie has interests and has published in environmental policy and decision-making including: the principles of ecologically sustainable development, and especially the precautionary principle; public participation; environmental indicators and state of the environment reporting; environmental management systems and policies for organisations. She is presently working with a number Government and non-government bodies, but with much of her time involved in her role as Assistant Commissioner of the NSW Natural Resources Commission.

 

Andrew Junor

Andrew has over 20 years experience in property and investment management, responsible for the strategy, management and growth of a number of property investment vehicles and businesses within Investa Property Group, Westpac, Lend Lease and more recently Multiplex. Among his achievements, Andrew introduced principles of sustainability and environmental accountability to the operational management of the significant national commercial office portfolio of Investa Property Group. This saw significant reductions in the portfolio’s environmental footprint, resulting in Investa being ranked first in the world among financial services and property groups in corporate responsibility.

 

John Balassis

John Balassis

John has over 15 years experience in strategy and strategic mergers and acquisitions across a range of industries including financial services, infrastructure, transportation and energy, both in Australia and overseas.  Among his achievements was growing a rail infrastructure development company from standstill to a multi million dollar corporation and securing the first ever unsolicited public/private partnership in rail in Queensland to build a new rail corridor.  He has been successful in the establishment of advisory and financial practices in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore and has had a 12 year professional career with KPMG both in Australia and the UK.  He is currently the Director and CEO of Australian Transport & Energy Corridor Limited, Director of TFG International Pty Limited, Director of Surat Basin Rail Pty Limited and Director of Australian Inland Rail Expressway Pty Limited.
